I’m Melissa, a thirty-something author who writes the kind of stories I love to read. Think flawed but relatable heroines, morally grey men who say all the right things, and plenty of slow-burn tension.

Big fan of: enemies to lovers. Workplace romance. Forced proximity.

Not a big fan of: sleeping over reading.

I write because I want to make people feel. Whether it’s joy, sadness, anger, betrayal, or wanderlust, I love how books and stories can draw out the emotions we often keep buried in everyday life. They create a safe space to escape. To swoon. To breathe.

I hope that my stories, my words, can be that same safe space for others.

Hi there!

A woman with blonde hair smiling and holding a glass of champagne in a restaurant or cafe.

A bit about the girl behind the pages…

I’m UK-born with Sicilian roots (my last name got the Mediterranean memo; my pale skin did not!). I live in Bath with my husband, Oliver, our baby girl Evie, and our very large (and very spoiled) Bernese Mountain Dog, Kylo.

When I’m not writing, you’ll usually find me in the kitchen trying out something I spotted on Instagram — probably Italian, maybe Asian, but definitely never desserts (trust me, you do not want to try my baking). Otherwise, I’m acting as chief holiday planner for my family, or daydreaming about opening a bookshop café in Bath.

A groom is placing a ring on a bride's finger during a wedding ceremony outdoors. The bride is wearing a wedding dress and veil, while the groom is in a gray suit. Other people are present, with one older man in the background smiling.
